Bank of America Tower at sunset

New York is known for having beautiful sunsets and that evening, the weather did not come as a disappointment. For a few minutes just before it went completely down, the sun set ablaze the cityscape and the sky over the city with incredibly intense yellow and orange colors.

At a height of 1,200 feet, the Bank of America Tower is the third tallest skyscraper in Manhattan. This photo was taken in 2009 just a couple of months before its completion. When the design of the building was released, it hit the headlines because it was to be one of the most energy-efficient and ""green"" buildings in the world.

The tower is located in Midtown on 6th Avenue and 42nd Street and overlooks the entire neighborhood.

To the right, another significant building–One Penn Plaza– stands in Chelsea on 34th Street between 7th and 8th Avenue. In the distance, the Hudson River lies between Manhattan and New Jersey.
